Presentation to Newbiggin Allotment Association
Newbiggin By The Sea Town Council received an application for a small grant of £300. A grant of £300 was agreed unanimously at the Ordinary Town Council meeting held on the 19th October 2022.
This was to help fund the cost of materials to make good the fencing and pathways which are in need of repair. To maximise the fund – volunteers at the Allotments will carry out the repairs. Now that is what we call an Newbiggin Allotment Community!!!
The allotments benefit a large number of our residents by providing recreational space to cultivate, giving access to fresh produce. Not only do they benefit the holders they also help friends and neighbours, Wansbeck Valley Food Bank and most recently we have seen this now reach the Warm Spaces.
Newbiggin By The Sea has a very giving community and the allotments holders are part of this – One big Heart
