Wansbeck Christmas Campaign is a constituted group who fundraise in order to collect and buy presents for families who struggle at Christmas across the Wansbeck Constituency. They work with Social Services, schools, and health visitors in order to identify families in need. We also offer a self-referral system for families who feel they need help,
Vicky Oakley, the Treasurer of Wansbeck Christmas Campaign popped over to Newbiggin this morning for a presentation photo with Cllr Alison Sutherland, Mayor of Newbiggin by the Sea. Vicky provided an update on the campaign progress. Last year they gave presents to over 600 children across Wansbeck of which 114 were from Newbiggin. In 2023 the need has been greater 804 children in total of which 122 were from Newbiggin, all presents have now been delivered to households to wrap for the children.
