Vandalism at Central Play Area
𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐭: 𝐕𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐚
We’ve been made aware of an unfortunate incident at the Central Play Area this morning. It appears that someone has poured PVA glue on the train and ticket office play equipment, causing potential damage and safety risks for children.
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝:
▪ PVA glue was found on the seat of the carriages and the ticket office play area equipment.
▪ The area was busy with other children and parents until 4:35 PM.
▪ CCTV footage shows three young children pouring the glue at approximately 4:38 PM yesterday.
▪ The children involved left the play area by 4:55 PM. Two of them were on bikes.

▪ CCTV footage and stills have been sent to Northumbria Police for further investigation.
