Newbiggin Town Council now provides all of the new and replacement litter bins throughout the town. These bins are emptied by Northumberland County Council as part of its statutory cleansing service. You are encouraged to dispose of wrapped dog waste in any of the litter bins found throughout the town.
A rolling programme for new bins has been carried out by the Town Council with capacity more than doubled around the bay and promenade in 2015/16, 20 town centre bins were replaced last year with larger covered bins and a further 30 new bins have been installed around the town in 2017 in either new locations or replacing old open top or post-mounted bins as required by Neighbourhood Services.
