Shorebirds for Beginners Guided Walk

Join Space for Shorebirds wildlife rangers for their first event of the season – a two-hour guided walk along the shore at East Sea Sands. This is an incredibly special site for a large variety of different shorebird species, and with autumn migration in full swing, you never know what exciting things we will see!

We will meet at 10am outside Newbiggin Maritime Centre, who have kindly provided hot drinks vouchers for after the walk. From there we will head along the shore towards Beacon Point, taking our time to watch the wildlife we see along the way.

During the event we will discuss why Newbiggin is so important for shorebirds, as well as talk you though some of the common wader species and give tips on how to identify them. No prior knowledge is required, and binoculars will be provided if you don’t have your own.
